Tupper Lake Ice Fishing
The weather may have been messy this weekend but the fishing was red hot!! We took our crew to the far north for some pike action on Tupper. Right off the bat it became clear that we were in for a wet day. It rained pretty much non stop all day but the temperature was warm so it was tolerable. The ice varied from 8 inches to almost a foot thick and there was plenty of evidence that other people had been out there fishing as well. We set up our rigs all around the weeds about a foot under the ice. Within a half hour of setting up all of the traps we started getting a steady bite. The two highlights of the day were a 31" 6.5 pound pike and a 5 pound bass both caught on suckers right under the ice. At the end of the day we had gotten about 20 something flags and ended up catching 8 pike 8 perch and a big ole bass. Lake Colby is also locked up and has about 6 to 8 inches of ice all over the lake. Stay safe and check the ice often!! Check back to the blog soon our next trip will be to Piseco Lake for lakers!!
