Ausable River and Lake George Report 6/28
The wet weather we have been having habe kept the rivers in great shape. Hatches have been very very good with a mixture of caddis and mayflies they have been especially heavy in the morning and evening. Fishing after dark can yield some real big trout and give you a good shot at those wary browns.
Hot flies have been copper john, pheasant tails, soft hackles, and the cdc comparadun. Water temps most places are in the 60s so the trout are happy and feeding very well. Lake George was fishing very well the lakers were on the prowl and hitting a variety of crank baits and spoons fished 40-80 feet down. Some salmon were being caught but they are picky and want different lures different days.
